With a growing collection of more than 4,500 volumes, the Research Center Library provides a central access point for airline and aviation history. Historians, authors, media and interested individuals can access books, periodicals, photographs, slides and VCD/DVDs. Archival information such as airline corporate records, annual reports, vintage time tables and papers can be viewed with an Archivist. Most books and materials must remain in the library, but a color photocopier and scanner is available for use. Researchers can also call in to (404) 675-9266 or email requests for information to email@example.com.
Great for scouting troops, home-school groups, church youth groups, senior centers, airline retiree associations, small school classes and business outings. While group tour size is limited to 30 due to the small size of the interim exhibit rooms, our 60-minute tours offer an insight not only to the exhibits and our growing collection of more than 35,000 artifacts, but are a great learning experience with a step into the collections processing area to learn how artifacts are received, catalogued and cared for. Includes time on our airline flight simulator.
Call (404) 675-9266 or email us to set up a group tour. Specific focus tours can be arranged, with access and viewing of particular interest areas such as individual airlines, airports or aircraft. Cost is $6 per adult participant, and $4 per student or child, which includes entrance ticket, a craft or activity for school age groups, and a souvenir artifact for all groups.
For a change of pace, plan an elegant cocktail party, private art showing in our gallery, or an intimate meeting in our 12-seat boardroom. Available after hours or on select weekends, the National Museum of Commercial Aviation is an affordable and unique location that promises to be anything but ordinary!
Ample free parking, and a short cab ride from Hartsfield-Jackson. Catering is available through a list of catering partners. Food and beverages are limited to certain areas of the museum.
Unique add-on offerings include museum docents dressed in vintage airline uniforms, presentations by airline historians, and a tour of the archives and collections process by our Collections Manager.
